Relationship Counselling with Claire Watt-Smyrk

Having a good relationship isn’t just about understanding your partner’s feelings and needs; being able to recognise and express your own is equally important. My sessions provide a safe space where you can discover what may underlie ongoing difficulties, and think about how your life experiences and beliefs influence both what is happening now and your hopes for your future.

I use psychodynamic therapy techniques to build relationship counselling sessions that help to develop a deeper understanding of the confusing and often complex feelings that are undermining your happiness and wellbeing. Couples often discover a renewed sense of energy and happiness once communication and intimacy are restored.

I am a registered member of the following bodies:

  • BSSM British Society for Sexual Medicine (BSSM)
  • cosrt College of Sexual and Relationship Therapists (COSRT)
  • bacp British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP)
  • Tavistock Relationships Tavistock Alumnic British Society of Couple Psychotherapists and Counsellors (BSCPC)

I work professionally within their strict ethical guidelines, which include a code of confidentiality. I also have Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) clearance, which used to be known as a CRB check.
